It's pretty much up to you. Which ever one has the most convenient free ATMs and gives you the most free services is the one that I'd go to. I've been with US Bank and not had any problems but many people like to go with credit unions as an alternative.

Try to see if you qualify for a credit union. I have had an account with First Community since I was a small child and they are very reliable and dependable with no hidden fees.

That's like asking whether you want to lose a finger or a toe -- both suck...

Do you have access to a credit union, or a small local bank?

getting a bank account is not a travel question. but, since you think it is, get a smaller bank. the big ones don't really care about you.

I would go to US Bank for the fact they have them all over the country.

I used my ATM card in California, Colorado, Texas, etc.

The also have a lot of in store (grocery stores) banking too.
